Dollar Index: How High Can It Go?

This is not a bubble yet. It is expensive, it has gone up a lot. It has gone up dramatically but it is not a bubble yet. I don`t know 120, 125, you will have to tell me what is going on in the world. If there is war, who knows how high it could go?

You can tell it is a bubble when you see people on Bloomberg TV begging to buy the dollars and saying that there is no other currency or place to put your money, except U.S. Dollars.

The U.S. Dollar Can Turn Into A Bubble

The U.S. Dollar can actually turn into a bubble when we get real turmoil. You know, if we have stock market collapses in the next couple of years, many people will flee to the U.S. dollar and it will be a bubble.

At that point I will have to sell my U.S. dollars and I have no idea what I will do with my money.

Oil Prices: What Is Happening Right Now

It is a political game right now. America and Saudi Arabia are trying to put Iran and Russia in their place. So Saudi Arabia is dumping crude oil in order to help with the political negotiations.

The last time we had a crude oil collapse, it went down to the low thirties. I do not think it is going there again, but it could if America and Saudi Arabia try to put more pressure on Iran.

U.S. Dollar: It May Turn Into A Bubble Down The Road

The U.S. Dollar can even turn into a bubble down the road, especially if interest rates are going higher and higher. A lot of capital will be attracted to the United States. If it does turn into a bubble, I hope I am smart enough to sell my U.S. dollars. Where will I put my money then? I have no idea.

The U.S. Dollar Is My Largest Position In Currencies

If the U.S. raises rates or the market forces the U.S. to raise rates, it is going to attract more money to the United States, rightly or wrongly.

The reason I own U.S. dollars, it is actually my largest position in currencies, and that is because there will be more turmoil coming in the world, we just talked about Greece but there is more turmoil coming down the road and in times of turmoil many people flee to what they see as a safe haven.

Rightly or wrongly, many people see the U.S. Dollar as a safe haven. It is not a safe haven it is a terribly flawed and troubled currency but since people think it is, that is where they will go.

Greece Cannot Pay Its Debt

Greece cannot fulfill its obligations, it is physically impossible. It is like the United States. The United States can never pay its debt. I mean, there are various ways to pay your debt, you can print money and make your debt worthless. That is what Russia did when the Soviet Union collapsed. There are many ways to pay your debt.

My advice is to Greece go bankrupt, declare bankruptcy and their creditors take the haircuts. I would stay in the European Union if I were Greece but they may get thrown out if something like that happens. Greece cannot pay its debt. This is a charade.

Investing: How To Capitalize

The way you do succeed at anything is you look at a desperate situation, especially when it is cheap, or it is repressive and it is opening up. It is hard to do, it is like a stock that is cheap, nobody wants it but it is the best way to capitalize.

If you look at Asia for instance, 50 years ago, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, all were very, very repressive and now they are all vibrant, successful democracies.

European QE: Stock Markets Are Going To Go Higher

They are going to say it is a success wether it is or not. Just like in the United States, just like in Japan. They will measure the success because the stock markets are going to higher, stocks are going to go higher. And they will say therefore things are better in Europe.

The way you measure success is, you ask on the street, "Is your life better or not?". And most of them a year from now will be complaining because the cost of living is going to go up a lot in Europe and nobody likes inflation, very few people like inflation.

European QE: Bullish For European Stocks

It is largely sentimental, it will help the banking system, it will help the investment class, it will help me. I own European stocks and I bought more because of all this. But its not good for the European Economy, it is going to debase the currency, the currency is going to go down more. Exporters will do better, that is part of what he is trying to do. But the cost of living in Europe is going to go through the roof because the currency is going down.

Draghi Is Shooting Himself In The Foot

Mr. Draghi is shooting himself in the foot. He is debasing the currency, the currency went down more today, he is increasing the debt. This is not good for Europe, it is not good for the world.

The Oil Market Will Bottom Soon

America is negotiating with Iran, that is why they got Saudi Arabia to dump their oil, to put pressure on Iran. Those negotiations come to an end this summer, we hope successfully. I suspect you will probably see a bottom in the oil market sometime soon.

The world is consuming more than it is finding, it has been for the last few years, except for fracking. But now fracking is not so popular as it used to be. I would not sell oil but my market timing is horrible.

If I had to buy a precious metal, I would rather buy Palladium or maybe even Platinum. But I do not have to buy precious metals, so I am not doing anything with those as well.

Base Metals: Fundamentals For Copper

In some of the base metals, things are apparently tight, no question about that. Copper, will be tight again. There is a lot of inventory right now but if you look at the mining, the fundamentals, if it is not deficit, it will be in a couple of years. So, I am not a buyer nor a seller of copper right now. Copper is going to be back in deficit in the next 2 or 3 years, if not before.

Russia: My Stocks Are Making All-Time Highs

Some of my Russian stocks are making all-time highs. I own shares of the Moscow Stock Exchange, it is at an all-time high. I own PhosAgro OAO (MCX:PHOR) which is a fertilizer company, it is making all-time highs. So, its not all doom and gloom. And if you buy when there is panic in the streets, you sometimes make money.

U.S. Dollar: Time For A Correction?

My largest currency holding at the moment happens to be the U.S. Dollar because I expect more turmoil in markets around the world and when there is turmoil, people flee to the safe haven, which they think its the dollar. It is not a safe haven but people think it is and that is why I own it.

The dollar has been very, very strong as you know, so its probably time for a correction, but I still own dollars and the chinese currency are my largest holdings.

Crude Oil: I Would Suspect It Is Going To Test The Lows Again

Certainly is the most important commodity far and away wether you like or not. Oil has come straight up in the last few weeks, So I don`t like to buy anything that is going straight up. I would suspect it is going to test its lows sometime in the next few weeks. That is normally what happens when you have a total collapse and you have a bounce. This is the way markets work.

Emerging Markets: Positive Changes In Russia, Kazakistan

I was bearish in Russia for 46 years. I first went to Russia in 1966, to many of the Soviet countries in 1966 and came home and said, "this is going to be a disaster." So I was bearish for the rest 46 years. But changes are taking place in Russia. I am not bullish in Ukraine, I find myself now being positive on Kazakistan to my surprise. I see big changes taking place place in former Soviet states and some of them are very interesting, including Russia.

Russia: I Own Shares Of The Moscow Stock Exchange

I own the Russian ETF, I became recently a director of a Russian fertilizer company. Their expenses are in rubles and they sell in U.S. dollars. So, they are coining money at the moment. As these are many other people, I guess there are opportunities.

I own shares of the Moscow Stock Exchange, believe it or not, and even more remarkable, the stock is at all time highs, it is astonishing.

Korea Will Be The Most Exciting Country In The World

Once reunification takes place, Korea will be the most exciting country in the world for a decade or two. Seventy five million people, right on the Chinese border, lots of cheap, disciplined, educated labor in the North, lots of natural resources in the North, huge amounts of capital and expertise in the South. I mean, this country will be a very exciting country, it will run circles around the Japanese which is why the Japanese are against all of this. There are plenty of people against it, but it is going to happen, just like it happened in Germany.

Gold Stocks: They Can Rally Even If Gold Goes Sideways

I actually bought a mining ETF recently. Gold stocks have gone down a whole lot more than gold and sometimes you can make money on those stocks or you should be buying them anyway in situations like that because they can go up even if gold goes sideways, they can go up even if gold goes down just because they got beaten up so much.

Gold: I Expect The Correction To Continue

I expect the correction to continue. I Expect another opportunity to buy gold in the next year or two and if so, I hope I am smart enough to buy it. If America goes to war with Iran, or something, I would be begging to buy it at 1600. But I expect another opportunity to buy gold in a decline sometime in the next year or two.
