Emerging Markets Will Suffer

Not all emerging markets are the same but most will be affected by the rise of interest rates in the United States. But it will only be a temporary worry because history shows it is only the third or forth increase in interest rates that one really has to worry.

The first rate increase hurts, the second rate increase hurts but the markets usually recovers. I would suspect emerging markets including India will be affected when they raise interest rates in December but there will be a recovery. After that be very worried about 2017 and 2018. The Fed Will Raise Rates After The Election

The Federal Reserve will be raising interest rates after the election. That will have an effect on world markets , but a temporary effect. It is after the third time the Fed raises interest rates that we should start to worry, that we should be very, very, very worried not just in America but everywhere. The U.S. Stock Market May Turn Into A Bubble

I own very few shares anywhere, none in the U.S. in fact I am short in the U.S. although I am reassessing that now because it occurs to me that all the money is going to flee into the U.S. Dollar now, so that may mean that the U.S. stock market can turn into a huge bubble as it did in the 1920`s. Alternative Energy Is Not Competitive

There is alternative energy but it is not very competitive if crude oil is at 50 dollars a barrel. Most alternative energy has to be subsidized by some government wether it is sun power, wind power, they are not great yet.

At 300 dollars a barrel for crude oil they will be very competitive but at the moment we have 50 dollar a barrel oil. (PowerShares WilderHill Clean Energy ETF (PBW), United States Oil Fund LP ETF (USO), Nymex Crude Oil futures)

Crude Oil Prices Will Be Much Higher In 2 or 3 Years

Oil prices hit bottom a few months ago and now they are going up again because low prices bring high prices. Producers cut production, others go bankrupt and people consume more so prices go back up. Prices will be much higher in 2 or 3 years. (United States Oil Fund LP ETF (USO), Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE), Nymex Crude Oil futures, Exxon Mobil (XOM), Marathon Oil (MRO))

Emerging Markets: Some Are Great, Some Are A Disaster

There is no such thing as emerging economies. There are some great ones, some mediocre ones and some disaster ones, so do not put them all together.

I am optimistic about things like Kazakhstan now, Nigeria, I am looking at Iran and I am wildly bullish on North Korea. I am bullish on China but I am not buying China. China is going to be  the next great country in the world. ( iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Index ETF (EEM), iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index ETF (FXI))

China: I Am Bullish About These Sectors

Some Chinese companies that deal with the West are going to go bankrupt if they have debt, there is no question about that. Some parts of the Chinese economy, if you are in pollution clean up, you do not even care if America disappears as you are so busy making money.

If you are in healthcare in China, China needs enormous healthcare and Beijing knows that.

Agriculture, I am extremely optimistic about agriculture in China.

Markets: A Recession Is About To Hit

Corporate earnings are down in the United States for the last 3 quarters. The recession, it is starting, it is in place.

Most stock markets around the world are down, most stocks in the United States are down.

If central banks were not printing so much money, everything would be down.

The U.S. Stock Market Is Tricking Everybody

In the past 9 months earnings are down in the United States, most stocks are down in the United States. But if you look at the averages (the stock indexes) they are still going up because all the central banks are running their printing presses as fast as they can.

So the world is getting worse but the markets look like they are OK. Most stock markets are down but the U.S. market is the one that is tricking everybody. (SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), Dow Jones Industrials, Nasdaq 100 Index)
