My Top 3 currencies at the moment are the U.S. Dollar, the Chinese Renminbi and the Hong kong Dollar. Those are the ones I own the most.

The Reasons I Own The Yen
I have got some money in the Yen and the reason by the way, is that they passed a law recently giving incentives for the Japanese to bring money back into Japan.
I don`t know if it will work or not, America did that a few years ago as you may remember and huge amounts of money came back to the United States. So that is why I own the Yen.

Reserve Currency: The World Is Moving Away From The U.S. Dollar
There is no question that the world has a problem with its reserve currency, the U.S. Dollar is a terribly flawed currency. The same thing occurred to the British Pound once upon a time and it lost its status. The same thing as happened to every currency in history. Will it happen anytime soon? I do not think so, but the world is moving away from the dollar.

U.S. Dollar: I Own A Lot Of Them
I own it at the moment because there is such turmoil, people will be seeking the safe haven of the U.S. Dollar. The U.S. Dollar is not a safe haven I assure you, but people think it is, so I own a lot of them.

U.S. Dollar: It May Turn Into A Bubble Down The Road
The U.S. Dollar can even turn into a bubble down the road, especially if interest rates are going higher and higher. A lot of capital will be attracted to the United States. If it does turn into a bubble, I hope I am smart enough to sell my U.S. dollars. Where will I put my money then? I have no idea.

The U.S. Dollar Is My Largest Position In Currencies
If the U.S. raises rates or the market forces the U.S. to raise rates, it is going to attract more money to the United States, rightly or wrongly.
The reason I own U.S. dollars, it is actually my largest position in currencies, and that is because there will be more turmoil coming in the world, we just talked about Greece but there is more turmoil coming down the road and in times of turmoil many people flee to what they see as a safe haven.
Rightly or wrongly, many people see the U.S. Dollar as a safe haven. It is not a safe haven it is a terribly flawed and troubled currency but since people think it is, that is where they will go.

Draghi Is Shooting Himself In The Foot
Mr. Draghi is shooting himself in the foot. He is debasing the currency, the currency went down more today, he is increasing the debt. This is not good for Europe, it is not good for the world.

U.S. Dollar: Time For A Correction?
My largest currency holding at the moment happens to be the U.S. Dollar because I expect more turmoil in markets around the world and when there is turmoil, people flee to the safe haven, which they think its the dollar. It is not a safe haven but people think it is and that is why I own it.
The dollar has been very, very strong as you know, so its probably time for a correction, but I still own dollars and the chinese currency are my largest holdings.

Forex: There Are No Sound Currencies
The Swiss Franc is just less bad than the Euro at this point. The Swiss Franc is less bad than some other currencies at this point, that is the only thing. People are looking for a sound place to put their money. There are not any sound paper money anymore, so they have to look for the one that is the least bad.

Huge Currency Moves Will Cause Trouble
We have got huge currency moves all over the world. The Japanese Yen is down over 50 percent in 2 years. The Euro Currency has collapsed, the Canadian Dollar, the Australian Dollar, the Ruble is certainly one the big ones.
We are going to have some more big dislocations in the world economy because when major currencies, the Japanese Yen for instance is one of the most important currencies in the world, when you have these dislocations, somebody is on the wrong side of the trade. I don`t know who they are obviously, but somebody is long and somebody is short. And the people that are long currencies, when huge moves like these take place, are in trouble.
If you owe a lot of U.S. Dollars for instance, you are suffering right now, wether you are in Japan, in Russia, in Venezuela, wherever you happen to be.

U.S. Debt: The U.S. Dollar Will Ultimately Have Serious Problems
The U.S. Dollar is and has been the world`s reserve currency for maybe 60, 70 years now. It took over from the Pound Sterling which had been the world`s reserve currency itself for 160 years.
Unfortunately the U.S. Dollar, and I am an American citizen, is a terribly flawed currency. We are the largest debtor in the world and the debts are going higher and higher. Countries that get themselves into these kind of situation ultimately have serious problems with their currencies and something comes along to replace it.

The World Needs An Alternative To Fiat Currencies
We need something to get rid of the fiat currency, we need to produce something to discipline politicians. Unfortunately nobody has ever come up with a successful method yet.

Crypto Currencies: Governments Will Figure A Way To Make Them Unsuccessful
As far as crypto currencies I don`t know. I know the theory and I don`t know why they would not work. My suspicion is that if they work, and they seem to be working, the governments are going to get very agitated because the governments like to have monopolies on money and they will do something to make them illegal or tax them. They will figure out some way to make crypto currencies not successful.

Currencies: The Origin Of The Term Debasement
The romans figured out ways to debase their currency, gold coins disappeared in Rome because the Roman government was debasing the currency, so everybody took the gold and hide it at home.
The term debasement in fact comes from what the Romans were doing because they put base metals, lead, copper, whatever into the silver coins and so if you look back, historically, at one point silver coins in Rome were 100 percent silver. By the end, silver coins in Rome had less than 0.2 percent. They were essentially base metals in the end. That is where we got the term debasement. So even silver coin, even gold has been debased because politicians knew ways to rob all of us.

All Fiat Currencies Eventually Lose Value
For those of you that don`t know, fiat currencies are basically paper money not backed by anything. That includes all currencies in the world, as we speak. History shows that all fiat currencies, all paper money eventually goes to the value, which is nothing, the value of the paper. And so, there there is no paper money, there is no fiat currency which has lasted very long, in the sense of history, more than 200, 300 years has been the longest lasting.

More And More People Moving Away From the U.S. Dollar
More and more people are trying to move away from the U.S. Dollar. It is not good for me, I am an American citizen, it is not good for any American, but it is a fact of life and we have to deal with it. More and more people want to get away from America, get away from the U.S. Dollar.
