The Markets May Drop 40-50% In The Next Downturn

In America, I'm going to use America as an example since it's less sensitive, it's been over eight years since we had a big correction in the American stock market. It's well overdue.

Historically we've had them every 4 to 8 years. When we have big market corrections in America they usually go around 40 or 50 percent. This one will go down 40 or 50 percent and it would be the worst in our lifetime because the debt is now so much higher than it was even in 2008. Focus On Stocks That Are Not On The ETFs Radars

In a recent interview with MarketWatch, Jim Rogers urges investors to focus on stocks that are not on the exchange traded funds (ETFs) radars:

“If somebody can just take the time to focus on the stocks that are not in the ETFs, there must be fabulous opportunities in those stocks because they’re ignored. Some of them have got to be doing very, very well. And nobody’s buying them, because only the ETFs buy stocks.”

Some US Stocks Are Turning Into a Bubble

Some stocks in the United States are turning into a bubble. The bubble is going to come and then it's going to collapse. You should be very worried. The Federal Reserve Will Not Save The Market

What's going to happen is they're going to raise interest rates some more then when things start going really bad people will call them and say, "You must save us, the Western civilization is going to collapse" and the Federal Reserve who's made up of bureaucrats and politicians will do something, so they will try but it won't work, it would cause some rallies but it won't work this time.

US Economy: No Signs Of A Recession Yet

I don't see one at the moment but the problem is they always come when you're not expecting them. I would suspect during this year or next it's going to start somewhere that we're not watching. Whether it's Illinois, a pension plan or Madagascar who knows. It's going to start somewhere and then we'll know. But if you look out the window now, everything's great and that's a dangerous sign. The Worst Market Crash In My Lifetime

In 2008 we had a problem because of debt, the debt in 2008 was nothing compared to what's happening now. In 2008 the Chinese had a lot of money saved for a rainy day. It started raining and they started spending the money.

Now even the Chinese have debt and the debt is so much higher. The Federal Reserve's balance sheet is up over five times since 2008. It will be the worst thing in my lifetime. What's Going To Trigger The Next Market Collapse

It could be an American pension plan that goes broke and many of them are broke as you know, it could be some country we're not watching, it could be all sorts of things. It could be war, unlikely to be war but it's going to be something. (SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (DIA), SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Index ETF (EEM))

Stock Market: Crash Later This Year Or Next

The Party In Stocks Will End Soon

The Indian stock market is not the only one going through the roof, look at European stocks and the US indexes. I think the party in stocks will end soon, but I am very, very bad at timing it. Stock Market, U.S. Economy & Trump

He promised that he was going to get American companies to get all the money that they have deposited off-shore with tax incentives but so far any of that has happened and that is one of the things that made the stock market go up. So far, none of that has happened and the economy continues to get worse. (SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (DIA), Russell 2000 Index ETF (IWM)

The Economy Does Not Seem To Be Booming. Why Are Stock Doing So Well?

The U.S. stock market is hitting all-time highs, which is a bit peculiar given the state of the world and the state of the economy. The economy does not seem to be booming, it's all based on expectations. Trump: Trade Wars or a Fantastic Time?

If we do not have trade problems and we do the good things (tax cuts, infrastructure spending and deregulation) that he wants to do, it could be fabulous! (SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (DIA))

Is the Stock Market Right About Trump?

Well, yes and no. Mr. Trump has said he is going to do some wonderful things, like cutting taxes which is always great for any society, any country. He said he is going to rebuild the infrastructure which America desperately needs and it's good for America.

He said he is going to bring home the 3 trillion dollars which American companies have overseas. All of the things are wonderful things. If he can do it, it's going to be great!

But, Mr. Trump has also said he is going to have trade wars with China, Mexico, Japan, Korea and a few other countries that he has named. He said that on his first day in Office he would impose 45 percent tariffs against China. He has been there for a few weeks and he has not done it yet, but he still has it in his head, I am sure. Maybe he is just another politician like all the rest of them that says one thing but does not mean it at all. He has at least three people at high levels on his team that are very, very keen to have trade wars with China and if he does that, it's all over!

History is very clear. Trade wars always lead to problems, into disaster and even to real wars. If he is not going to have trade wars with various countries, then chances are that for a while happy days are here. Stocks: The 3rd Rate Rise Starts To Cause Problems

Traditionally when the Federal Reserve raises rates three times you should be very, very worried. And on the fourth you should not only be worried but just run for the hills. So, if history is any guide, when the Federal Reserve raises interest rates some more there will be problems in the equity markets. How Higher Rates Will Impact the Stock Market

Higher interest rates are certainly coming from the market and from the Federal Reserve. What that does to the stock market (SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY)) we shall see. Traditionally when the Federal Reserve raises interest rates three times you should be very, very worried.

Markets: Recession, Interest Rates and Inflation

The problems are getting worse. Japan is already in recession (iShares MSCI Japan ETF(EWJ)). Parts of Europe, parts of America are in recession.

The world has many problems facing it. Interest rates are going back up and a rise in interest rates will hurt a lot of people, it will help some but it will hurt most people. You have inflation rising again. I am not very optimistic about the next 2 or 3 years. (SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (DIA), SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), Nasdaq 100 Futures)
