Markets: The Problems Are Now Hitting Us And Its Going To Get worse

The American stock market has been worse than the Chinese stock market. The Chinese stock market in 2015 was one of the best stock markets in the world. The American stock market was down last year. So it started in America and in Europe and China is catching up and its catching up in a big, big way.

My basic point is we have had a lot of excesses in the last 7 years, we have not had any major decline in the American stock market, we had staggering amounts of money printed, huge amounts of debt built up and we are now paying the price. Do not blame it on China. If you want to blame it on someone, blame it on the Federal Reserve. The problems are now hitting us and it is going to get worse.

Markets: It Does Not Look Good

It looks like 2016 is going to be the year that we all have to pay the price for a lot of bad policy over the last 7 or 8 years. It does not look very good. China Is My Largest Long Position

China is my largest long position. My largest positions are airlines and tourism in China and the collapse in the price of oil has been good for airlines all over the world. Tourism is booming in Asia, pollution control. I have been in Beijing 3 times in the last month and it is filthy, it is horrible! Somebody is going to make a lot of money cleaning up China.

Crude Oil: How To Look For A Bottom In Prices

Oil seems to be making a complicated bottom. I am not a technician but I know how they think. And when a lot of bad news come out and oil does not go down maybe it is making a bottom. Global Markets: Watching, Looking For Opportunities

I am not really putting my money anywhere. I am mainly watching. I am short U.S. stocks and I am long China. I am looking for maybe some more shorts in junk bonds, I would like to short more junk bonds in the United States. And I am looking for opportunities.

Many Reasons For The Global Sell Off

It is probably because of what is happening in the Middle east. The Middle East is a tinderbox. The economies in the Unites States, in Europe and in other places are slowing down too, so there are many reasons (for this global sell off).

Why I Started Investing In Russia

Exchange traded funds that trade in New York, Market Vector Russia ETF Trust (RSX), is the one that pops to mind. I actually own more shares than I do exchange traded funds but yes, it is a great way to play Russia.

One reason I invested in Russia, I have been bearish for 47 years, been negative on Putin for 15 years. But Russia has changed dramatically in the last 2 or 3 years and that is way I started investing in Russia.

Putin understands capitalism, that he can`t just take money away from people, that he can`t just put them in jail, that he has to play by the rules. And the Russians are starting to play by the rules in the financial markets.
