India: I Don't Like The Populist Budget

I do not like the fact that the Indian budget deficit is going to continue. India will continue to get deeper and deeper into debt. That is populism, Mr. Modi wants to keep everybody happy! (WisdomTree India Earnings Fund ETF (EPI), iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Index ETF (EEM))

I Don’t Invest in Momentum Stocks

I don’t really understand high-priced stocks and so I just stay away from momentum stocks.   My investment style is just to find stocks or markets that are depressed and cheap, where there is both value and also some an element of change taking place. In the stock market I like to buy low and sell high.  (Netflix (NFLX), Facebook (FB), Tesla Motors (TSLA))

Markets: Recession, Interest Rates and Inflation

The problems are getting worse. Japan is already in recession (iShares MSCI Japan ETF(EWJ)). Parts of Europe, parts of America are in recession.

The world has many problems facing it. Interest rates are going back up and a rise in interest rates will hurt a lot of people, it will help some but it will hurt most people. You have inflation rising again. I am not very optimistic about the next 2 or 3 years. (SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (DIA), SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), Nasdaq 100 Futures)

If Trump Starts A Trade War, Sell Everything!

President Trump very much wants a trade war with Mexico, China, Korea, Japan... And if that really happens, you sell everything, every asset in your portfolio. (SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (DIA), SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Index ETF (EEM))

Commodities: Crude Oil

Crude oil is in the process of making a complicated bottom. We will look back some day and we will say, "In 2015, 2016 or 2017 energy made its bottom and then prices moved higher." (Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE), United States Oil Fund LP ETF (USO), Nymex Crude Oil futures)
