Trade War: Where Will China Strike Back
In a recent interview with RT.com, Jim Rogers shares his views about the impending trade war between the U.S. and China and where China should strike back:
“China’s a huge buyer of American agriculture, so of course that’s the obvious place to hit back because that hurts Mr. Trump the worst. It’s not Americans, it’s Trump. Trump and his guys, those are the ones they have to hit,”
A Trade War Would Cause A Catastrophic Bear Market
In a recent interview with RT.com, Jim Rogers explained that a trade war between the U.S. and China would cause a catastrophic bear market in stocks:

Will Bitcoin Succeed? A Few Thoughts.
Regarding Bitcoin I repeat what I said about IBM and
computers: the people who invent
something don't necessarily become the
ones who succeed.
We do know that the
world has a money problem. We do know
that the Internet is changing everything
we know. My children will
probably never go to a bank when they're
adults. My children will probably never go to a post office
when they're adults. So the Internet is
changing everything we know and it's going
to change money.
If you go to China now
most people don't have money. If they
want to buy a cup of tea they put their
phone on the spot. If they want to buy a car
they put their phone on the spot. So the
Internet is gonna change everything we
know.
How it's going to evolve I don't
know. I do know that governments do not
like to lose control., governments want to
control everything, the crypto people say, "yes, but we're smarter than the
government" and they are. Everybody's
smarter than the government but the
government has more guns than everybody
else so if the government wants to
control money they will.

Views On Real Estate
Suppose that interest rates go to 6 percent which historically is not so high. Many, many places are going to get killed in real estate. There are plenty of places where real estate is still reasonable. Not in most of America and certainly not in Singapore. I would not suggest buying property in many Asian cities.
Investing: Looking For A Safe Haven
If I were looking for a single safe-haven in 2018, 2019 I would say the U.S. Dollar and if I'm right it is going to get overpriced and it can turn into a bubble if the turmoil really gets bad. If that happens I hope I'm smart enough to sell.

Markets: I'm Short Junk Bonds
I'm short junk bonds. The yield spread between junk bonds and AAA bonds now is very, very narrow (never been this narrow) and when interest rates go higher and they have already started going higher, junk bonds are going to get killed.

Market: Treasury Yields Will Keep Going Higher
In September of 1981 the long-term bond in America was at 15.50%. I'm not talking about junk bonds, I mean Treasury bonds. By the way, one other thing, in 1981 America was a creditor nation. Now we are the largest debtor nation in the history of the world and the debt is getting higher every day, every hour.

Interest Rates Are Gonna Go Up For A Long Time
Q: where do you think
yields are headed to on the benchmark
10-year Treasury?
I'm not a very good market timer and I'm on
a very short term trader but I will tell
you that interest rate in America (...) we've
had very long cycles in the bond markets. Depending on how you look
interest rates or bond prices started a
bear market in 1946 which ended in 1981, you can tell that that's 35 years. Then
in 1981 we started a bull market in
bonds. Well that one is gone on for 36
years I'm 37 years.
So bull markets in
America anyway have had a habit of being
very long. So I would just suggest you
that's it's already started turning and
the interest rates are gonna go up for a
long long time. If I told you how high, you would hang up, you would stop
listening to me. So when the next bear
market comes in bonds it's gonna be a
doozy.
Central Banks: They Say It's All Going To Be OK
Since 2008
government debt around the world has
doubled. Everybody has talked about austerity and
how we're going to cut back spending and
pay off the debt etcetera but the debt
has doubled.
The debt at the American
central bank has gone up five or six
times in just nine years. This has never
happened before in recorded history. Never, ever have interest
rates been this low and they say it's
all going to be okay. You better call the
Tooth Fairy.

The Reason For The Stock Market Correction
Whenever there is an overdue stock market correction people always look for a reason. I can give you some reasons: the main reason is that it has gone up too long, too far, too fast but interest rates are also going higher and there are problems in Washington with the government. There are many reasons. But essentially it is because it went up without a correction and now we are having one.

I'm looking for I would expect a three and a half of 4 percent deficit more this year I don't know if they'll announce that they'll probably announce 3 percent because they always make it sound better than it is so the deficits going to get bigger thinks it would make me happy would be opening up the Indian economy finally but they're not gonna do that and they're not gonna listen to me. Crude Oil: Known Reserves, Fracking, Price
In my view, crude oil is making a bottom. It's a complicated bottom. We will look back someday and say, in 2014-2018 crude oil made its bottom. Known reserves of oil everywhere continue to decline except for fracking but the fracking bubble burst a few years ago.
Now people know that fracking is not magic and that people can lose money in fracking.
