The Risks Of Holding ETF’s

In a recent interview with MarketWatch, Jim Rogers highlighted the risks of owning Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) when a bear market in stocks eventually arrives:

"When we have the bear market, a lot of people are going to find that, ‘Oh my God, I own an ETF, and they collapsed. It went down more than anything else.’ And the reason it will go down more than anything else is because that’s what everybody owns."

The Absurdity of Extremely Low Interest Rates

It's all absurd. If 20 years ago we had said interest rates are going to go to zero and they're going to go to negative people would have said that's incomprehensible, that cannot happen and I explained it has been done by the central banks they would really say it's incomprehensible.

Market Turmoil Will be Bullish For The US Dollar

Exchange Controls In The US

Higher Interest Rates Will Cause A Market Collapse

The central banks have already told us that interest rates are going to go higher. America has already raised interest rates a few times. So far there has been no collpase in the markets but that is because interest rates are not high enough to hurt people, yet. Interest rates are going from zero or from negative in some cases to up a little bit but not enough to hurt yet but when they get higher it is going to hurt. Then everybody is going to suffer.

Trump Will Not Start A War With North Korea

I cannot imagine Mr. Trump is going to start a war with North Korea but who knows. He bombed Syria for no reason, he bombed Afghanistan for no reason so who knows what he might do if he gets angry one morning and if he does it, it's going to be very very bad for all of us. GST Is Good For India

I want to emphasize that in the short term GST is going to cost a lot of money and a lot of time for a lot of people because it's such a huge change but in the long term it's one of the best things that's happened in India in a long, long time. Air India Should Be Privatized

Well, not much has been done except GST which is a huge thing. I hope that they will privatize Air India I'm not sure why that's a big thing for Indians. It will be better for India, it would be better for Air India if they have to be efficient and competitive instead of being a protected industry and not offering very good service to Indians and foreigners.

Why Russian Bonds Are So Attractive

The yields on the Russian government bonds are very high. An investor can get 10 percent in Ruble bonds and in my view the Russian Ruble has stabilized, so it’s a lot better than getting 2 percent in American government bonds.

The Federal Reserve Will Not Save The Market

What's going to happen is they're going to raise interest rates some more then when things start going really bad people will call them and say, "You must save us, the Western civilization is going to collapse" and the Federal Reserve who's made up of bureaucrats and politicians will do something, so they will try but it won't work, it would cause some rallies but it won't work this time.

US Economy: No Signs Of A Recession Yet

I don't see one at the moment but the problem is they always come when you're not expecting them. I would suspect during this year or next it's going to start somewhere that we're not watching. Whether it's Illinois, a pension plan or Madagascar who knows. It's going to start somewhere and then we'll know. But if you look out the window now, everything's great and that's a dangerous sign.
